What is sterling LIBOR? The London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR) is an interest rate based on the average interest rates at which a large number of international banks in London lend money to one another. The official LIBOR rates are calculated on a daily basis and made public at 11:45 (London Time) by the ICE Benchmark Administration (IBA). The British pound sterling LIBOR interest rate is the average interbank interest rate at which a large number of banks on the London money market are prepared to lend one another unsecured funds denominated in British pounds sterling. The British pound sterling (GBP) LIBOR interest rate is available in 7 maturities, from overnight (on a daily basis) to 12 months. The shortest maturity is overnight, the longest is one year.
