Just a quick note: here 40:1 means 40 to 1 gas-to-oil ratio, not 40 to 1 oil to gas ratio. Of course, it doesn't make sense to add forty parts of oil to one part of the fuel, and nobody in their right mind would do so, but it's worth mentioning to avoid disastrous misunderstandings. Since all 2-cycle small engines use the same fill port for both fuel and oil, a 2-cycle oil mix is necessary for your outdoor power equipment to function properly. The Specific oil/gas ratio your small engine requires can be obtained in your Operator’s Manual . To mix the fuel, first pour the engine oil and then the petrol into a suitable can approved for use with fuel. Before pouring this mix into the fuel tank, first mix it thoroughly by shaking the can. Take care when opening the can as pressure may have built up inside. Gas must have oil mixed with it, or you risk burning up the engine. If you don't mix enough oil/gallon, you risk damaging your engine. If you have too much oil in your mix, you can bet you will foul out your plugs.

Gas and Oil Mixing Charts The following gas and oil fuel mix ratio charts are a handy reference for those using any type of engine that requires mixed fuel.

In a catalytic cracker, heavy gas oil is broken (cracked) into smaller hydrocarbons may contain cyclones (mechanical devices that spin the mixture vigorously). Gas:oil ratio is defined as the ratio of the respective volumes of liberated gas and residual oil. The gas:oil ratio continues to rise with increased gas saturation,

It has the pre-mixed high octane fuel and it requires 50:1 ratio oil mix for all equipment. This Arnold Trufuel 50:1 Gas & Oil Mix is used for 2 cycle trimmers,

When oil is brought to surface conditions it is usual for some natural gas to come out of solution. The gas/oil ratio (GOR) is the ratio of the volume of gas that  Using the right type of fuel is critical in the safe and efficient operation of your STIHL equipment. All STIHL gasoline-powered equipment runs on a 50:1 mixture of  13 Jun 2011 For 5 gallons of gas, with a 32:1 ratio, the amount of oil required is 20 US ounces (156.25 ml), 4 ounces per gallon of gas (31.25 ml per liter).

Q: How do I mix gas and oil? A: Mix 3.2 ounces of Poulan 2-cycle air cooled engine oil to one gallon of fresh unleaded gasoline to obtain the recommended 40:1

Fuel mixture. Your petrol-powered engine requires a mixture of petrol and engine oil. The quality of the petrol and oil is extremely important to the running and life of the engine. Unsuitable fuels or mix ratios that do not comply with the specification can seriously damage the engine (piston seizing, excessive wear.)

If your outdoor equipment has a 2-cycle engine, it runs on a mixture of oil and gas. Here’s how to properly mix the fuel. Step 1: Determine the proper mixing ratio for your unit. This ratio indicates how much fresh, regular unleaded gasoline (containing no more than 10% ethanol) to mix with how much oil. Just a quick note: here 40:1 means 40 to 1 gas-to-oil ratio, not 40 to 1 oil to gas ratio. If you want maximum power and cutting performance from your chainsaws, nothing beats a gas powered 2-stroke chainsaw. But all that extra power comes at a price: you need to keep a close eye on the fuel and oil mixture that you pour into the engine. Get the mix ratio wrong, or forget to add oil, and you can end up with a ruined engine.
